Story as mentioned below.
The love story of Rukmini and Krishna is one of the most beautiful and celebrated tales in Hindu mythology. It represents devotion, true love, and divine destiny.
Rukmini’s Love for Krishna
Rukmini was the princess of Vidarbha, the daughter of King Bhishmaka. She was known for her exceptional beauty, intelligence, and devotion. From a young age, she had heard countless stories about Lord Krishna—his bravery, kindness, and divine charm. Though she had never met him, she fell deeply in love with him and decided that she would marry no one else.
The Problem: An Unwanted Marriage
Rukmini’s father, Bhishmaka, supported her choice, but her brother Rukmi was against it. Rukmi despised Krishna and wanted Rukmini to marry Shishupala, a powerful but arrogant prince. Against Rukmini’s wishes, her marriage was arranged with Shishupala.
Rukmini’s Secret Message to Krishna
Desperate, Rukmini sent a secret letter to Krishna through a trusted Brahmin messenger. In the letter, she expressed her love for Krishna and pleaded with him to rescue her before the forced wedding. She also gave him a plan: she would visit the temple of Goddess Parvati the day before the wedding, and Krishna could take her away from there.
Krishna’s Bold Rescue
Upon receiving the letter, Krishna immediately set out for Vidarbha. On the day of the temple visit, as Rukmini stepped out after offering prayers, Krishna arrived in his golden chariot. Without hesitation, he lifted Rukmini onto the chariot and rode away.
Rukmi and his allies, including Shishupala and Jarasandha, chased after them in anger. A fierce battle followed, in which Krishna and his brother Balarama defeated Rukmi’s army. Krishna spared Rukmi’s life but humiliated him, making him promise never to return to Vidarbha.
The Grand Wedding
Krishna took Rukmini to Dwarka, where they were married in a grand ceremony. Their love was blessed by all, and Rukmini became Krishna’s chief queen (Patrani). She was his most devoted consort, embodying the ideal of love, faith, and dedication.
Rukmini and Krishna’s Eternal Bond
Rukmini and Krishna shared a deep bond of love and respect. She remained his most beloved queen, and their story is often seen as the perfect example of devotion and divine love.
Their love story is not just a romantic tale but a symbol of spiritual longing and surrender to the divine. Rukmini’s unwavering faith in Krishna and his commitment to her make their story timeless and inspiring.ry as mentioned below.
